“Attending NCBA’s 2026 Young Cattlemen’s Conference was an immersive and eye-opening experience. We were able to see the industry from the day a calf hits the ground all the way through to the beef cuts in the grocery store. We started at the NCBA office in Denver, toured Five Rivers, Tyson’s Dakota City plant, Certified Angus Beef, and then spent 2 days in Washington D.C. The schedule kept us on the move, and the bus rides to each stop allowed for the 70 attendees from across the country to talk about challenges and opportunities facing their operations in their own respective states. Not only did the YCC trip allow me to learn more about each sector along the beef supply chain, but also forced me to think about the cattle industry in the big picture, learning more about how producers across the country grow cattle differently than we do in Nebraska.”

We cannot overstate the importance of this legislation for cattle producers in the Beef State as we continue recovering from the devastating wildfires our industry has faced. Our livelihoods depend on rebuilding quickly, and we cannot afford delays caused by unnecessary red tape. Thank you Senator Fischer for your leadership in ensuring Nebraska’s beef producers have the flexibility needed to move forward with recovery and rebuilding.
