Our Outreach Focus for June and July is the Bread of Life Food Pantry at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Immanuel is one of Trinity's sister congregations and just over a mile away at 11th and South St. Bread of Life was started after Immanuel intentionally and thoughtfully connected with their community and desired to meet the needs of their neighbors.
Bread of Life is open on Tuesdays from 12-3 PM, Thursdays from 3-6 PM, and Saturdays from 9 AM-12 PM. Anyone over the age of 18 can receive food with no questions asked.

Trinity is blessed with many talented musicians who enhance our worship services with their gifts. This Good Friday and Easter, Lyle and Temu have selected special music for our services. You can read more about the music selections and listen to recordings on our website at https://trinityoflincoln.org/church (scroll down to "Holy Week Music"). Below is included a small snippet of what Lyle wrote to describe the pieces:
The first preservice piece, entitled "Fratres" (meaning "brothers" in Latin), was composed in 1977 by the Estonian composer Arvo Pärt. You may not initially appreciate the "Fratres" piece, unless you put your mind into what the music is trying to say. As you listen, give thought to the series of Jesus’ six last words on the cross followed by his last saying, "Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit." Then follows the darkness, the tearing of the temple curtain, the splitting of rocks, the earthquake, the opening of tombs.
The second preservice piece is entitled "Theme from Schindler’s List" and was composed in 1993 by John Williams. Its usage for us on Good Friday, beginning at the service start time, is to capture the emotions of melancholy, dismay, resignation and helplessness of the crucifixion eyewitnesses after Jesus has died.
To enjoy this music in person, please join us for our evening Good Friday service at 6:15PM.
