Community Crops

Community gardens create spaces for families to feed themselves...and to feel at home! 🏠
They create abundance: “The Community Crops Program didn’t just teach me gardening; it helped me rediscover the simple happiness of growing and enjoying local food, and finding pieces of 'home' in unexpected places."
- Crops Gardener
They are also spaces to teach our children the value of growing their own food, where they can experiment with what they grow and learn family traditions.
Gardens not only help our community members feed themselves, but create spaces for friendship, connection, education, and more. Help ensure these community gardens continue and that we can come closer to our vision of a garden in every neighborhood in Lincoln. 🌱

Help Us Grow Culturally Important Produce! 🌱
Our farmers have been hard at work in the greenhouse and fields, preparing for the upcoming season. This year, we’re excited to welcome back 12 returning farmers alongside four new growers joining our community.
One of our farmers, Saeed, has been carefully potting his Iraqi Green Eggplants, an essential crop for the local Yazidi community, with roots in the mountain town of Shingal in northern Iraq. Crops like these reflect the deep cultural connections and traditions our farmers bring to the land.
We’re continually inspired by the diversity of cultures, knowledge, and growing practices within our program and proud to help share that richness with the Lincoln community.
Donate now through May 28 to help us continue growing and diversifying the produce our farmers provide for Lincoln! https://loom.ly/CP9_4Ss
