South River Ranch

Finally got snow! The kids think it’s magical, and the horses have officially decided they’ve served their sentence and are ready to tear up the pastures again. Annie and Remi have also become best friends during this week-long barn stay—bonded by cold weather and extra hay, apparently. Thank y’all so much for your patience with lessons while we survive this cold snap (frozen hoses and all). Stay warm, hug your animals, and we’ll see everyone very soon!

We are so thankful for our wonderful family and friends, and for our healthy, happy horses. We’re also grateful for everyone who trusts us on their journey of learning about horses. Most of all, we give thanks for the many, many blessings God has poured over us this year. Wishing you all a day filled with gratitude, love, and joy.

Update: Leroy has been sold
Leroy is the kind of horse you trust from day one.
Gentle, kind, and confident on the trail, he’s just as easy on the ground. His laid-back demeanor makes him a comfortable fit for a wide range of riders, and he’s happy to go at your pace.
A seasoned trail partner, Leroy handles varied terrain with ease and takes everything in stride. He’s levelheaded, dependable, and puts honest effort into every ride. Leory is not meant to be a lesson horse or a barrel prospect, but he’s definitely your go-to guy for trail miles, creek crossings, and backroad adventures.
Before coming to us, Leroy was used as a bulldogging horse and still shows that calm, collected mindset around cows. He’s unbothered by ranch-life distractions like ATVs, noisy kids, dogs, or tractors. Whether you’re headed out alone or riding with a group, Leroy brings confidence, a good mind, and a sweet personality that make him an easy favorite.
