Wow… what a weekend at Sisco D Ranch!

We had the pleasure of hosting the Couto family, and what an unforgettable few days it turned out to be. Frank and his family joined us for a family getaway filled with time outdoors, great company, and memories that will last a lifetime.

Day 1
Our first evening in the blind showed plenty of promise. We were able to lay eyes on many of the incredible animals that call Sisco D Ranch home, including a beautiful Axis buck. Unfortunately, he never offered Frank an ethical shot opportunity, so we wrapped up the evening optimistic for what was to come.

Day 2
The morning hunt started off slow, with very little movement before the Texas heat settled in. During the afternoon, Frank’s son Lucas and Brandon spent some time on the clay range, where Lucas put on an impressive display of shotgun skills. The evening hunt mirrored the morning, and despite plenty of effort, the Axis continued to avoid us.

Day 3
With our final day underway, we knew it was time to make a game plan. Since the Axis weren’t cooperating, Frank and Brandon decided to switch gears and pursue one of our beautiful Blackbuck antelope.

Around 5:00 PM, a mature Blackbuck made one crucial mistake—it stepped into the perfect broadside position. Brandon gave the green light, and Frank made the shot count. One perfectly placed double-lung shot resulted in a quick, clean harvest and Frank’s very first trophy animal.

Congratulations again, Frank! It was an absolute pleasure hosting you and your family, and we’re honored to have been part of such a memorable milestone. We can’t wait to welcome the Couto family back to Sisco D Ranch for your next adventure.
