A lot of people see the scores, targets, and trophies. What they don't always see are the early mornings, long practices, mental focus, self-discipline, and resilience it takes to compete on the national stage.

Last week, 16 Kentucky 4-H youth and 4 coaches joined 767 competitors from 42 states at the 4-H Shooting Sports National Championships. After three days of competition, the Kentucky teams proved that 4-H Shooting Sports is about much more than marksmanship.

Through countless hours of practice and competition, these 4-Her’s learned the value of hard work, staying focused, being responsible, and never giving up when the pressure is on.
