It was no mystery that many of our residents would have transportation needs, but the c
hallenge arose if they needed transportation after the emergency, within 24-hour notice, outside of normal operating hours, or with a little more assistance. We saw the difficulties when people had to be transported on a stretcher or gurney, ride in a wheelchair, travel with medical equipment, or return with some residual anesthetic. Often an ambulance ride back when you’re not emergent creates an enormous bill. All these created a gap in transportation services offered, and this was an issue reverberated through more and more conversations. Our one bus couldn’t meet all the needs our Valley had, but we knew we still could help. We took our knowledge of meeting the needs of people, excellent training, business resources, and expert team and moved from the indoors to hit the roads.
