Last week, unimaginable tragedy struck Josie and her children with the sudden passing of her husband. Josie has been part of our IARN family for many years.

In an instant, Josie has been left to navigate a new and overwhelming reality while caring for her 5 young children, who range in age from just 5 months to 8 years old. As she tries to comfort her babies and process her own grief, the weight of daily responsibilities and unexpected expenses has begun to grow.

Along with the emotional toll of this loss, the financial strain is immediate. Household bills are mounting, and the costs associated with her husband’s passing have added an additional burden during an already heartbreaking time.

Josie is a devoted mother who now faces the difficult road ahead without her partner. This fund is being created to help relieve some of the financial pressure so she can focus on what matters most right now, her children, their healing, and finding stability in the days ahead.

Today, Code Enforcement officers responded to a deceased puppy, left in a box under the viaduct near the City Playfields. The puppy was female, mixed-breed, and approximately 8-12 weeks old. She was likely dumped within the last 24 hours. Cause of death is unknown at this time.
