To the Dads Carrying More Than Anyone Sees…

I just wanted to take a quiet moment to talk to the fathers out there.

It’s never been easy to be a dad but right now, in this modern world, I think it might be the hardest it’s ever been.

The expectations are sky-high.

Be strong, but be soft.

Provide, but be present.

Lead, but follow their emotions.

Show up at work, and then show up at bedtime.

We’re juggling a lot.

And most of the time, no one sees that.

And if they do, they don’t always say it.

As dads, we carry this invisible weight.

And we’re not usually the ones who get to talk about it, because, well, we’re “not emotional,” right?

But the truth is, a lot of us are carrying some heavy stuff in silence.

And I just want to say this to any dad who needs to hear it:

You’re not failing.

You’re not alone.

Every time you show up.

Every time you say, “I love you,” even if you weren’t raised to say it, that’s what real fatherhood looks like.

There’s a quote from Jordan Peterson I keep coming back to.

He said:

“The purpose of life is finding the largest burden that you can bear and bearing it.”

And that’s what so many fathers are out there doing, carrying that weight, quietly, faithfully, for the people they love.

So even if your kids don’t see it now, one day they will.

And when they do, they’ll understand that love wasn’t just something you said.

It was something you lived.

Keep going.
