We just finished a full resleeve and timesert head bolt repair on a 1983 Mercedes 380SL block. These are originally Alusil cylinders but we were able to go back to standard bore by installing iron fl**ge sleeves.

No, we don't use this method! Sometimes you work with what you have to make it work. Interesting at least.
