🔥 Burn Ban in Effect for the Town of Leland

The Town of Leland has issued a Town-wide burn ban, effective Tuesday, June 9 at 12 p.m. until further notice.

The ban prohibits all burning within 100 feet of an occupied structure within Town limits. Due to Brunswick County’s burn ban, the same restrictions also apply to unincorporated areas of the County within the Leland Fire District.

The N.C. Forest Service has classified the region’s fire danger index as “high,” meaning there is an increased risk of wildfires.

The burn ban will remain in effect until conditions improve. The Town of Leland will share updates, including when the ban is lifted, through its website and social media channels.
