As we celebrate , we want to remind everyone to use 9-1-1 responsibly. Here is a quick breakdown about what is and is not a 9-1-1 call regarding fireworks ⬇️

Call 9-1-1 if:
✅ You are reporting fireworks violations
✅ Someone is injured or in immediate danger
✅ You see a fire
✅ You notice smoke or flames you cannot identify or control
✅ You witness a crime in progress

Do NOT call 9-1-1 if:
❌ You want to know what fireworks are legal in your area
❌ You want to know what time local fireworks displays start
❌ Your neighbor has a storage container at their house filled with fireworks.

For non-emergency fireworks inquiries or complaints, please contact your local police or fire department or call the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office, NC's non-emergency phone number at 910-253-7490.

Let’s keep 9-1-1 lines clear for real emergencies.
