Taxes Refund Update

The PATH Act hold has officially been lifted for taxpayers who claimed the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or the Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC). According to the Internal Revenue Service, many refunds are expected by March 2, with direct deposits beginning to arrive next week. While some refunds have arrived earlier in previous years, there is never a guarantee of an exact deposit date.

Please note that no deposits will be processed today. We encourage you to monitor the IRS website throughout the week for updated deposit information.

Keep in mind that filing your return in January does not automatically place you in the first batch of refunds or guarantee a specific deposit date. In some cases, taxpayers who file in early February may receive their refunds before those who filed in January.

Refunds may be delayed for several reasons, including:
• Errors on the return
• Fraud prevention filters
• Identity verification requirements
• Wage or dependent verification reviews

In most cases, these delays are outside the control of your tax professional and do not necessarily indicate a problem with your return.
