County administrative offices will be closed Friday, July 3, 2026, in observance of the Independence Day holiday. A reminder that many county facilities, including Loudoun County Parks, Recreation and Community Services recreation centers and Loudoun County Public Library branches will be open July 3 and will serve as cooling centers. Find details, including advice on how to stay cool during this period of extreme heat, at loudoun.gov/heat.
It’s ! As we celebrate the American flag today, we also acknowledge the veterans whose service to our country has protected the freedoms the flag represents.
For you trivia lovers, did you know that in 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation establishing June 14 as Flag Day? Then, in 1949, President Harry Truman signed a bill, which officially made Flag Day a recognized holiday.
