While government is necessary, it should exist to protect freedoms for every individual in the broadest sense, rather than taking freedoms away under the misguided label of helping the greater good–and causing the unintended consequences of those efforts. Instead, we believe that people should be given the freedom to choose which causes they would like to support, the opportunity to do so, and the ability make informed decisions about their own lives. It is the belief in the spirit of the individual–the faith that each man should be trusted to make the best decisions for himself and his family–that allowed this country to be the freest in the world. And it is continued belief in these principles that will continue to do so.
