The U.S. Secret Service is establishing a presence in the Middleburg area as Vice President JD Vance is in the process of leasing a property outside town, NBC News reported on July 9.

The second family has leased Wolver Hill, a 496-acre farm property owned by Chuck and Stacy Kuhn, owners of JK Moving Services and JK Land Holdings, several people with direct knowledge of the transaction told the Times-Mirror.

The Kuhn family purchased the Wolver Hill property and placed it in conservation easement in 2022. Located off Foxcroft Road adjacent to Salamander Resort and Spa, the property was once owned by the Iselin family, a prominent horse racing family, and a home on the property is more than a century old.

One Middleburg resident who asked not to be identified said they have seen the Marine Two helicopter flying over the town in recent weeks and Secret Service “all over Middleburg.”

Middleburg Mayor Bridge Littleton told the Times-Mirror that he has "no direct knowledge" of the Vances' reported lease at Wolver Hill, but he has seen the motorcade pass through the town and Marine Two land at the property.

Data center industry employees, proponents, skeptics and critics all packed the Loudoun County Government Center in Leesburg on July 6 for a town hall on one of Loudoun's defining issues.

Hosted by Board of Supervisors Chair Phyllis Randall, D-At Large, the two-and-a-half hour event began with a presentation from the chair before moving into questions and comments from those assembled.

"Today, what we’re going to talk about, basically, is the good, the bad, the challenges, the successes, the unvarnished facts about data centers,” Randall said at the start.
