The Garden State RCBA Spring Show is always a "must attend" for us - 4 Open shows plus a Specialty, excellent judging lineup, great location, well attended, superbly run, etc. It's always just a good weekend of friendly competition and fellowship (plus, we get to celebrate Daniel's birthday! 🎂🙂).
Last year, we were honored to win BOB Show C with Lilac Sr Doe, RGC JP's Tinkerbell under judge Daniel Barrett. Tink retired from showing after that weekend with 13 legs, top 10 finishes at both NDS and ARBA Convention, multiple BOV, BOSV, BOSB, and just that one BOB. Two weeks later, she kindled her first litter and has excelled as a brood doe ever since.
Out of said first litter, she produced JP's Miss Canada - a doe that we have loved from the start. MC doesn't boast the show earnings of her mother (several BOV, BOSV, and 4th Lilac Sr Doe at NDS '26) but I (Emily) still think I like her just a touch more than her momma (shhh, don't tell Trent😄).
This year, we were honored to win BOB Show C with Lilac Sr Doe, JP's Miss Canada under Judge Johnny Haussener. MC finished her weekend earning multiple senior legs, making her eligible for her Champion title as well.
We were further blessed to be awarded BOB and BOSB Show D with Gray Sr Doe JP's Yam and Gray Sr Buck JP's Barkley under Judge Donald Sheets.
Congrats to Sheila Wiltshire, Claire Burns, Mackenzie Kratzsch, and the Smith/Conklin gang for your wins as well!! It is for the love of our breed and the love of our fellow exhibitors that we get up and put in the work each day. The Dutch family is a special one, and we are honored and blessed to be just a small part of it!
And, as always, thank you to the amazing show coordinators and team, and to our esteemed judges. We appreciate you so very much!
PS - Karen Coombe & Rebecca Coombe - you were so missed this weekend! Can't wait to see you soon❤️
Is anyone from East PA headed to Westmoreland for the show this Saturday and able/willing to transport a single Dutch Sr Doe?

In Augusta NJ last weekend RGC JP's Tinkerbell (Lilac Sr Doe) finished her show career in style, winning BOV lilac in the Dutch specialty show Saturday morning to earn her 12th show leg and being named Best of Breed on Sunday morning under judge Daniel Barrett to earn her 13th and final show leg.
Lots of "records" were set here. First of all, this was our first ever breed win in the relative new lilac variety, and we couldn't be more proud. Second...Tinkerbell...this doe has been such a joy...in her 13 months of life she has accumulated 13 show legs, the most in our rabbitry's history for a Dutch of any variety. But never had she won breed. BOV, BOSV, BOSB, top five as both a junior (convention) and a senior (National Dutch Show) at the National level. But never a BOB. With a flair for the dramatic, Tinkerbell waited until the last show she was entered in to get it done.
As a reward, she'll become a brood doe for us. We may fill Tinkerbell's spot on show team, but we'll never replace her.
Thanks to Mackenzie Kratzsch and her amazing team for a great weekend and congrats to the other BOB/BOSB Dutch breeders (Sheila Wiltshire's Black Sr Doe, Blue Sr Buck, and Blue Sr Doe...the woman has so many hot rabbits right now it's tough to keep track; Jeff and Julie Brown's Black Sr Buck; Karen Coombe's Black Sr Buck, and Jean Smith and Family's Tort Sr Buck)
