Three Pillar Performance
Three Pillar Performance is about optimizing personal fitness through nutritional excellence, physical activity, and mental clarity. Most fitness systems only address one or two of these areas, but Three Pillar Performance is committed to a balanced approach. Not another cookie cutter program, we seek to individualize the wellness experience and give clients exactly what they need, regardless of age, activity level, or experience.
Obviously I haven't posted in a while. I've been meaning to get into the concept of basic human movement patterns and how to train them. However, this is an extremely involved topic and I'm not sure how detailed I want to get. In it's most basic form(and I'm completely ripping off Dan John here) the body can push, pull, squat, and hinge. Secondarily, the body can twist, lunge, and carry. Each of these movement patterns has progressions and regressions based on mobility, strength, and individual goals. Obviously you wouldn't expect a sedentary office worker to train the same way as a high school linebacker(though the similarities may surprise you). My next post will focus on the hinge, as it's probably the most important and overlooked movement pattern for athletic prowess and general fitness alike. Also, if you have a topic you'd like me to address in future posts, feel free to message me or post in the comments.
