Dewpoint temperatures have been in the single digits and 10s much of the day and evening (brown on map). As result, snow has been struggling to reach the ground. Dewpoints have been rising the past few hours and by 3am..dewpoints should be the highest (whitish shade within yellow circle) they will be in the Austin area ...so there should be just enough moisture for steady snowfall. Estimating most areas should get between a dusting of snow up to an inch ,with isolated areas getting higher totals.

Forecasted snowfall totals as predicted by two forecast models....Austin may get 1 to 3 inches while Houston...if these models verify..may get 6 to 8 inches. These forecasts may change as the amount of moisture in atmosphere, timing of freezing temps and timing of the storm system could still change.

Warm conditions expected through Monday with temperatures around 80. Cold front will move through before sunrise Tuesday cooling temperatures down to seasonal norms. Only a slight chance of a shower very early Saturday...otherwise looking dry for the next week.
