EAA 690 is a chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association, located at Briscoe Field (LZU) in Lawrenceville, Georgia. A diverse chapter with over 250 members, we offer a wide range of aviation-related activities on a regular basis. Photographed with the Lindbergh Foundation Board, astronauts Gene Cernan, Neil Armstrong (seated), and Jim Lovell were the only ones holding a glass of wine when I made this photograph in May of 2012.
It was created at a Lindbergh Foundation fund raiser at the Explorer's Club in New York City. When I first saw it afterwards, I was disappointed, but as a friend of mine said "Don't be...they're pilots!" I was ok with it after that. RIP Neil and Jim... ©2012 JOHN SLEMP.
