We are aware of posts and videos circulating on social media regarding police activity in the area of South Broadway and Merrimack Street earlier today. Some posts have incorrectly stated that a robbery occurred at the Plaza.

To be clear, no robbery occurred.

While investigating the incident, officers encountered two individuals who were subsequently taken into custody on active warrants. These arrests were not related to the original reason for the police response.

We understand that incidents involving a large police presence can generate interest and speculation. However, we ask residents to refrain from sharing unverified information, as doing so can lead to unnecessary concern and confusion.

We encourage the public to seek information from official sources whenever possible and thank the community for its continued cooperation.
