Advocacy in Action: Right to RepairπŸ’ͺ🏽

At DMV Auto Alliance, we believe meaningful change happens when the automotive community has a seat at the table.

Earlier this year, the DMV Auto Alliance had the opportunity to join SEMA and PRI on Capitol Hill to meet with members of Congress, discussing important issues affecting automotive enthusiasts, repair shops, manufacturers, and the aftermarket industry. Among those discussions were Right to Repair, which allows the ability to work on your vehicle yourself without having to go to the dealership, while also protecting access to aftermarket parts.

This week, we took a step forward as a presidential memorandum was signed to promote Right to Repair by directing federal agencies to review barriers that can make vehicle repairs more difficult.

It’s encouraging to see these issues continue to gain attention at the national level. Despite these turbulent times, any progress that benefits the automotive community is something many of us can appreciate.

We are proud that DMV Auto Alliance had the opportunity to be part of these conversations and to represent you all and have your voices heard. Advocacy matters, relationships matter, and every conversation helps move our industry forward.

Thank you to SEMA, PRI, lawmakers, and everyone who continues to advocate for our community. DMV Auto Alliance will continue working to ensure enthusiasts have a voice.

Together, we drive positive change!

πŸŽ‰DMV AUTO ALLIANCE β€’ 2 YEARS STRONG πŸŽ‰

Two years ago, DMV Auto Alliance started with a vision, a conversation, a " mega chat", and a table at the DC Auto Show. We have now grown into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to uniting automotive enthusiasts, communities, industry leaders, and law enforcement through education, advocacy, and collaboration.

In just two years, we've partnered with local race tracks, collaborated with law enforcement agencies, worked on projects with SEMA/ PRI, advocated at Congress on Capitol Hill, have had several news interviews highlighting the positive part of the automotive community, supported community outreach efforts, and received an invitation to participate in the America 250 vehicle display initiative. We have also started the process to expand nationwide.

Police have told us, "keep doing what your doing"

For the first year and a half, our team met every Monday night to build this organization from the ground up. Today, we continue that commitment through biweekly meetings while beginning the initial work toward future national growth.

Thank you to every board member, volunteer, partner, supporter, and enthusiast who believed in our mission.

We're proud of how far we've come, and even more excited about what's ahead.

This is only the beginning. πŸ’™πŸ

🏁 Planning an Event? Do It at the Track🏁

Did you know that many of the things required to host a successful automotive event may already be built into a racetrack's operations?

From parking and traffic flow to safety procedures, staff, facilities, and event infrastructure, tracks are designed to host automotive activitiesβ€”often making event planning easier while creating a safer and more organized experience for everyone involved.
But racetracks need our support too.

These facilities provide: 🏁 A legal place to race 🏁 A safe place to test and learn 🏁 Community gathering spaces 🏁 Opportunities for future enthusiasts 🏁 Jobs and economic impact for the automotive industry.

When tracks disappear, our community loses much more than pavement.

🀝 Communicate and coordinate with your local track. Ask how you can help keep them openβ€”and how they can help keep your community, events, and automotive hobby thriving for future generations.

Less work. More impact. Stronger community.

🏁 Take It To The Track🏁

What local track has made the biggest impact on your automotive journey?

Today, we celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, mentors, and father figures who help guide the next generation both on and off the road.

Whether you're teaching life lessons in the garage, passing down a love for automotive culture, supporting your family's dreams, or leading by example in your community, your impact reaches far beyond what you can see.

At DMV Auto Alliance, we recognize the important role fathers and mentors play in building stronger families, stronger communities, and a stronger automotive culture.

Thank you for your leadership, sacrifice, dedication, and the positive example you set every day.

Wishing all the amazing dads a safe, happy, and well deserved Father's Day!

πŸš— What does it really take to host a car meet legally?
Many people see the flyer, the cars, and the photosβ€”but don't always see the planning that happens behind the scenes.

From property owner permission and parking plans to insurance, safety considerations, communication, and event rules, responsible event organizers invest a lot of time to help create safe, enjoyable experiences for everyone involved.

The goal isn't to make things difficult, t's to help ensure events can continue, businesses remain supportive, communities stay engaged, and enthusiasts have places to gather for years to come.

Did we miss anything? What do you think is the most overlooked part of organizing a car meet/show?

πŸ‘‡ Drop your thoughts in the comments.

🏁 Remember: If you're planning an event, consider partnering with your local racetrack. Many tracks already have infrastructure, staff, safety plans, and facilities in place that can help make hosting easier while supporting the future of our hobby.

After careful consideration, DMV Auto Alliance has made the decision to withdraw from participation in the proposed Great American State Fair vehicle showcase.

While we were excited about the opportunity to showcase American automotive history on a national stage, we ultimately determined that we could not responsibly move forward due to insurance, liability, vehicle protection concerns, and several other factors that arose during the planning process.

Our responsibility is first and foremost to the enthusiasts and vehicle owners who trust us. As a result, we felt it was necessary to make the decision that best protects the interests of our community.

We sincerely appreciate the opportunity, everyone who expressed interest in participating, and the organizers who took the time to work with us throughout the process.

Thank you for your continued support of DMV Auto Alliance.
