As we come into July and weeks away from our 6 year anniversary it was ironic I was sent this picture just days ago. As some of you know 5 years before the Rat was born it all started with this van. Itwas given to me by my parents. My mother used it to build her business as well whom at the end of the day none of this would be possible at all without she taught me this business. I would sometimes sleep outside of estate sales in the van just to be first in, and save money because if I got a hotel room it was less I would be able to buy. At the same time I met a great man who much of this is owed to Chris RIP and loading up the van every Saturday and Sunday with tables and totes hitting fleamarkets setting up and selling but primarily at the Big Top where after months and months we secured a couple booths inside and Nerdful things was born which in a matter of years growing to taking up majority of the center section. After years the Big Top announced its closing, after talking it over due to health reasons Chris decided it was time he threw in the towel but greatly encouraged me and pushed me to continue and I decided do or die and through many twists, turns, hurdles and months and months of working a full time city job and working with others every free moment resulting in many literal sleepless nights and scraping to make it happen and opening up while going up against covid Retro Rat was born. This past week the van that started it all the van that was a work horse and a hotel room helped this gentleman fuel his business as well and texted me this photo saying "farewell ole girl"
