Gateway Community Health Center
is a community health center funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The Center is a 501 (c) (3) private, non-profit corporation with a governing board of 15 directors whose responsibility is to oversee the overall operations of the Center. The Center serves all residents in the Texas counties of Webb, Zapata, and Jim Hogg.

Gateway Community Health Center proudly congratulates Rubi E. Fierros on successfully passing her Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) board certification through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)!
Rubi’s accomplishment is a testament to her dedication, perseverance, and commitment to providing quality care to our patients and community. We are incredibly proud of this milestone and excited to celebrate her success.
Gateway’s Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program provides participants with more than 1,500 hours of on-the-job training while covering the cost of the program for employees who aspire to become Certified Medical Assistants. The program can take up to 12 months to complete and is a registered apprenticeship program through the U.S. Department of Labor Office of Apprenticeship.
Participants selected for the program are Gateway employees who receive competitive wages, benefits, and the opportunity for continued employment upon successful completion.
Rubi’s achievement highlights the value of investing in professional growth and workforce development. We look forward to seeing all that she will continue to accomplish as part of the Gateway family.
