Beginning today, July 1, 2026, all mobile food vendors must obtain a state license through the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS). Vendors will be classified as Type I, Type II, or Type III based on the type of food they sell and how it is prepared.

Here's what you need to know:
✅ A DSHS state license is now required to operate.
✅ Vendors must still follow all local requirements, including zoning, fire, and safety regulations.
✅ DSHS will oversee licensing and enforcement related to the new state law.
✅ If you've submitted your state application and paid the required fees, you may continue operating while your application is being processed.

A partir del 1 de julio de 2026, todos los vendedores ambulantes de alimentos deberán contar con una licencia estatal emitida por el Departamento Estatal de Servicios de Salud de Texas (DSHS). Los vendedores serán clasificados como Tipo I, Tipo II o Tipo III, según el tipo de alimentos que vendan y la forma en que los preparen.

Esto es lo que necesita saber:
✅ Ahora se requiere una licencia estatal del DSHS para operar.
