It’s almost time for Back To School!

Today, the Santa Teresita Community Center hosted its annual Back To School Festival.

Students of all ages received backpacks and school supplies to aid them in the upcoming school year.

Special Thanks to Commissioner ‘Wawi’ Tijerina and The many sponsors who helped make this event possible.

Commissioner Jesse Gonzalez held his weekly food distribution this morning in Precinct One. Families from Cielito Lindo and nearby areas were met with bags filled with pantry essentials, fresh produce such as avocados, and a healthy serving of frozen chicken. Through our strong partnership with the Laredo Regional Food Bank and our collaborative spirit, we are addressing the food hunger gap. We are committed to aiding families in our community and are thankful for the collaboration and teamwork that drive these efforts forward.

The generosity continues to flourish in Precinct Two. Commissioner Tijerina, and the Bruni Community Center just wrapped up the annual back-to-school drive. Over sixty children took part in this initiative. The children of Bruni are now prepared for a successful school year with backpacks, pencils, rulers, paper, folders, and much more. A big thank you to all the agencies that played a role in making this event such a tremendous success. Through teamwork, kids received free haircuts, supplies, and vital information on how and when to call 9-1-1. Best wishes for the upcoming school year!
