Summer is a season full of adventure for many children. A few simple steps can make a big difference in keeping them protected while they explore, play and enjoy the sunshine. Families are already doing so much to help children have safe, fun experiences — and these tips can help build on the great things you're already doing:

• Prioritize water safety. Stay within arm’s reach of young swimmers, use life jackets when needed, and teach kids to always swim with a trusted adult.
• Practice active supervision. At the park, the beach, or a backyard gathering, give kids your full attention during play and transitions.
• Identify safe adults. Talk with children about who they can go to if they feel unsure, uncomfortable, or need help.
• Set clear boundaries. Review expectations around personal space, digital safety, and staying close in public spaces.

Your care, presence, and everyday choices make such a positive difference - keep up the great work!

We’re proud to highlight the incredible impact happening through Child and Family Charities and their Nurse Family Partnership (NFP) program.

Recently, one father joined NFP through a referral from another department. With support, coaching and consistent encouragement, he moved from supervised visits to unsupervised time with his child — a meaningful step toward stability and reunification.

The NFP team walked alongside him as he embraced his role as a parent, showing how collaboration across programs can strengthen families and create lasting change.

Stories like this remind us why partnership matters. When organizations work together, families grow stronger, children thrive and communities become more resilient.
