Hello everyone!

My name is Kia Johnson, and I’m so excited to introduce myself and welcome you to PlayKare House—my in-home childcare program built with love, experience, and intention.

With over 25 years of experience working with children and a degree in Early Childhood Education from Lansing Community College, I am deeply passionate about creating a safe, nurturing environment where children feel valued, supported, and inspired to learn.

As a mom and wife, I truly understand how important it is to have a place where your child feels secure, cared for, and able to grow. That understanding is at the heart of everything I do.

At PlayKare House, I focus on building a strong foundation for lifelong learning through play-based, age-appropriate experiences. My program is designed to spark curiosity, encourage creativity, and support social and emotional development in meaningful ways.

In addition to running my childcare, I also serve as an assistant director at a local nature-based childcare center. This role has strengthened my approach to child development and deepened my commitment to fostering values like teamwork, responsibility, leadership, and a love for nature.

I believe in strong partnerships with families and prioritize open, consistent communication so we can work together to support each child’s unique needs.
