Michael Patrick Shiels of Michigan's Big Show asked, "Is [dual enrollment] a partisan issue?"
The answer is no.
The Governor's budget, House budget, and Senate budget all include dedicated funding for dual enrollment, ensuring K-12 school districts are reimbursed for tuition and fees paid on behalf of students earning college credit while still in high school.
There is broad bipartisan agreement that dual enrollment expands opportunity, accelerates degree completion, and strengthens Michigan's talent pipeline.
As lawmakers work toward final FY27 budget agreements, let's get it done.
