🚨 Know the Signs of Heat-Related Illness 🚨
Heat can become dangerous quickly. Knowing the warning signs can save a life.
🥵 Heat Cramps
• Painful muscle cramps or spasms
• Heavy sweating
➡️ Move to a cool place, drink water, and rest.
💦 Heat Exhaustion
• Heavy sweating
• Weakness or dizziness
• Headache
• Nausea or vomiting
• Cool, pale, clammy skin
➡️ Move to a cool place, loosen clothing, sip cool water, and cool the body with wet cloths or a cool shower.
🚑 Heat Stroke – Medical Emergency
• Body temperature above 103°F
• Hot, red, dry, or damp skin
• Confusion or slurred speech
• Loss of consciousness
• Seizures
🚨 Call 9-1-1 immediately. While waiting for help, move the person to a cooler area and cool them with cold cloths or ice packs if possible. Do not give fluids if the person is unconscious or unable to drink safely.
If you're feeling sick from the heat, contact your healthcare provider for guidance. If it is an emergency, call 9-1-1 right away.
