The hard-drinking, bitter, and hilariously outrageous matron of the New York City Orphanage, Miss Hannigan spends her days trying to keep Annie and the other orphans under control. While she may not be the hero of the story, she steals every scene she's in with larger-than-life comedy, unforgettable songs, and endless opportunities for an actress to make the role her own.⁣

Over the years, Broadway audiences have been treated to iconic performances by Dorothy Loudon in the original 1977 production, Nell Carter in the 1997 revival, and Katie Finneran in the 2012 revival. Each brought a unique interpretation to this beloved role, proving that Miss Hannigan can be funny, intimidating, over-the-top, and surprisingly human all at the same time.⁣

Auditions will take place: July 19th & 20th⁣

Featuring iconic songs including “Tomorrow,” “It’s the Hard Knock Life,” and “Maybe,” 𝘈𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘦 tells the story of a spirited young orphan determined to find the parents who abandoned her during the Great Depression. Along the way, she captures the hearts of billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his secretary Grace Farrell, and even President Franklin D. Roosevelt in this uplifting musical about hope, family, resilience, and finding where you belong.⁣

We are casting:⁣
- Approximately 25 roles for adult performers⁣
- Multiple roles for children ages 8–16⁣
- Ensemble opportunities for performers of all ages and experience levels⁣

It’s been a little quiet here on our social media pages lately, but we promise we haven’t been resting! Since closing our production of Frozen, several members of the Evolve Theatrics Board were busy assisting another local community theater production, serving in roles including Director, Assistant Director, Choreographer, and Costumer.⁣

At the same time, we have continued working behind the scenes on our upcoming production of 𝘈𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘦; including set design and construction, which is already underway!⁣
⁣
At Evolve Theatrics, we truly believe community theaters are stronger when we support one another and demonstrate what it means to be a community. Theater thrives when artists, volunteers, and organizations lift each other up, and we are proud to be part of that spirit of collaboration.⁣

Now, with that production behind us, we are moving full steam ahead with preparations for 𝘈𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘦 auditions coming this July! We can’t wait to share more details, sneak peeks, and opportunities to get involved in the weeks ahead.⁣
