Honored to be in Lansing tonight for the State of the State address alongside Mayor Gail McLeod of Allen Park.
This is always an exciting evening as we hear from our Governor on the vision and plans for Michigan’s future. I’m grateful for the opportunity to represent our community and bring our voices to the Capitol.
Looking forward to an inspiring night focused on progress, opportunity, and a stronger Michigan for all.

It was a very long week in Lansing.
House Republicans pushed through a move to yank back nearly $645 million in previously approved funding, money that was meant to support Michigan families, local communities, and critical programs.
For our Downriver communities, this is not abstract. These dollars support infrastructure, public safety, environmental cleanup, workforce development, and services that residents rely on every day. Pulling this funding puts real projects and real people at risk.
I spent the week fighting to protect Downriver, working to make sure our projects are not left behind and that our communities don’t pay the price for political games. I will continue doing everything in my power to defend the investments our district was promised and deserves.
Downriver deserves stability, transparency, and leaders who show up and fight

I was very happy to help provide full Thanksgiving meals to over 100 Melvindale families on Tuesday. The meals included corn, mashed potatoes, rice, mac and cheese, celery, stuffing, gravy, a loaf of fresh bread, an aluminum roasting pan, and of course a fresh turkey. We had a great team working together to make it happen! Special thanks to Mike Hacham. Without Mike's help it would not have been possible to put this together. My team had been working for a couple weeks to put something like this together for the needy residents, but were coming to dead end after dead end with our original contact person. Fortunately, Mike stepped in and really got the ball rolling. It was great to be around so many people who truly care about the citizens of Melvindale.

Due to the federal government shutdown, SNAP benefits will not be distributed this month. Everyone deserves access to healthy and nourishing food which is why I am fighting to protect Michigan’s food assistance programs. If you or someone you know needs help navigating resources please call or email my office we’re here to support you.

Kicking off another great week in Lansing!
It’s always good to be back in our state’s capital, connecting with people who are passionate about making Michigan stronger. Started the week meeting with the Global Kratom Coalition and then the Michigan Realtors Association both great conversations about important issues impacting our communities and local economies.
Had an amazing meeting with my talented staff as we prepared for a full week of work on behalf of Michiganders. Today, we’re on the House floor working hard to pass smart, effective policies that move our state forward.
Looking ahead to a busy and productive week filled with meetings, committee hearings, and meaningful discussions about the real issues that matter to people back home in Downriver and across Michigan.
Let’s get to work! 💪🇺🇸
