With time, the jaw bone shrinks and the denture teeth may wear down causing the denture to become loose and not as effective in chewing food adequately. Our practice is able to provide same-day treatment for patients that are in pain and need emergency extractions and/or denture repairs. The state of your health and any medications you may be taking will determine if extraction services can be provided. What if my denture hurts? It is not unusual for a new denture to hurt and create sore spots on your gums. Just call our practice and we will schedule a time that is convenient for you to return to have your denture adjusted. Adjustments help eliminate sore spots, and there is typically no charge for the 1-3 years after getting a new denture made by us. Otherwise, a small fee is charged for adjustments.
