Garret Players’ intimate minimalist staged-reading format invites audience members to engage their imaginations . . . We also encourage audience participation by having “talk-back” sessions after some performances. These talk-backs give audience members an opportunity to share their reactions and to talk with the actors about their performances. Actors find that Garret Players’ staged-reading process means their time commitment to a play is usually no more than two weeks from the first rehearsal to the last performance. This facilitates more adult participation in the joy of community theatre. Garret Players is inclusive providing opportunities to all. Garret Players’ 2012-2013 season will begin with the classic Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck on November 2, 3, and 4. In March of 2013 we will present a comedy and in late May of 2013 we will present another thought-provoking drama. We also will present Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol as a one-man show by Mr. Brent Alan Burington on Sunday, December 2, 2012. Please watch for more information about these exciting events. Everything Garret Players does is donated including the time and talents of the actors and crews, and costs the Library nothing. There are no admission charges, but we ask audience members to consider making donations to the Friends of the Library – a section 501(c)(3) organization.
