Tips for better sleep‼️ As I sit here trying to work with 3 hours of so so sleep 💤 I’m inspired to post “Tips for better sleep” . - Go to bed and wake up at the same time (set biological clock)
- Limit caffeine, alcohol and stimulants. Limit prior to sleep about 4-6 hours.
- Create a relaxing sleep environment. Your bedroom is not an office or game room! Set room temperature no lower than 75 degrees research shows we sleep better in cooler rooms.
- Limit screen time. 2 hours before bed is ideal. Light stimulates the brain to be awake.
- Get a sleep routine.
-Don’t nap throughout the day because it disrupts your sleep cycle.
- Watch what you eat before bed time. Large meals should be consumed 2-4 hours before bed. Followed by light snacks with protein such as peanut butter, cheese or crackers. - Limit fluids. Causes repeated trips to the bathroom.
- Also try supplements to induce relaxation for better sleep including; melatonin, ginkgo biloba, glycine, valerian root, magnesium, L- theanine, lavender. - Take a bath or shower before bed - Exercise regularly but, NOT before bed.
Clearly some of these are harder to do than others however these tips may help you sleep better. Have a productive day 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
