Volunteers from VisionCorps came from a mission rooted in practical independence: helping people who are blind or vision impaired through rehabilitative, preventative, educational, and employment services. That kind of work honors dignity in tangible ways. At Anchor, their service took a familiar shape as they helped serve breakfast and assemble shower kits for our neighbors this week.

God’s varied grace does not make everyone useful in the same way. It gathers distinct gifts, professions, burdens, abilities, and schedules, then turns them outward for the good of others.

Anchor continues to need breakfast volunteers, including workplace teams, churches, departments, and community groups willing to serve for a morning or on a recurring basis. To learn more, please contact Kelly at [email protected].

It's Time to Celebrate

Tickets are now on sale for Anchor’s 10th Birthday Party!

We will gather on Thursday, August 20th, from 5:00–7:00 PM at First UMC to celebrate ten years of the Lord’s provision, share a chicken-and-waffles dinner, enjoy fellowship, play a game, and hear more about the work God continues to sustain through Anchor.

This is a great evening to bring a friend, invite a neighbor, or introduce someone new to Anchor. Guests will also have the opportunity to learn more about joining the Breakfast Club and supporting the ongoing work of the ministry.

Tickets are $10 through August 6th and will increase to $15 afterward. Tickets may be purchased by Venmo, PayPal, cash, or check. Printed tickets can be handed to you in person, or emailed for convenience. If purchasing online click below to make a donation. If using PayPal, please use the “write a note” option and include “Birthday Party Tickets.” If purchasing through Venmo, please add “Birthday Party Tickets” in the description so we can properly track your purchase and send you your tickets.https://anchorlancaster.org/give

Anchor is currently in need of napkins and a few specific cereals: Cheerios, Corn Flakes, Rice Krispies, and Raisin Bran.

This is not because we have anything against adventurous cereal. Somewhere, perhaps, there is a ministry prepared to receive the marshmallow-filled, chocolate-swirled, limited-edition boxes. Anchor's kitchen, however, runs best on simple, consistent options. When cereal is predictable, volunteers can stock, sort, pour, and serve without turning breakfast into a scavenger hunt. This is one small way to steward what has been given: bringing what is needed, in the form that best helps the work.

Donations can be dropped off directly at Anchor: 29 E. Walnut Street

Monday–Thursday between 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
