Summer is here, and 4th of July celebrations are right around the corner!

As a reminder, the City of Lancaster has updated its fireworks ordinance. Fireworks may not be set off or exploded within Lancaster city limits. Only licensed and approved public firework shows are allowed.

Small novelty items, such as sparklers, snakes, smoke devices, and party poppers, are still permitted.

Under the ordinance, a first offense for setting off fireworks in the city is a minor misdemeanor. Any repeat offenses are a fourth-degree misdemeanor.

Please celebrate safely, be respectful of your neighbors, and help keep the holiday enjoyable for everyone.
