Kudos to many stalwart & faithful volunteers who served this past weekend at the second Mission of Mercy in Allegany Fairgrounds in Cumberland, MD. Particularly, I wish to credit Dr. Marc Nuger and Dr. Lynne Brodell who "hung in there" to the very end at Triage......also in Triage: Dr. Jacqueline Palaisa, Dr. Norm Alpher and Dr. Elaine Miginsky, with whom I had the great pleasure of working. If you know any of these fine folks, please express your gratitude for their sacrifice of time and skill?

It is quite profound to read what president Abraham Lincoln proclaimed on the 4th of July, 1863:
"We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of heaven. We have been preserved, these many years in peace and prosperity. We have grown in numbers, wealth and power, as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us, and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us. It has seemed to me fit and proper that God should be solemnly, reverently and gratefully acknowledged, as with one heart and one voice, by the whole American people."

Kudos to Dr. Alan Scharf at Bel Air dental, who like a phoenix from the embers, has rebounded from tornado damage with an even more fabulous facility. I had the pleasure of attending his Open House, and heartily commend them on a job well done! Karen Sugar & Associates did a wonderful job on fixtures and finishes. Their new office is well worth the trip to Fallston, MD to see.
