Yesterday members of the Lancaster County chapter of the Pennsylvania Union of the Homeless and National Union Of The Homeless. went door knocking to talk to residents of a community within our county who are facing homelessness.

The current system dictates what the "land owner" is doing is "legal" but we must question what this system dictates is "legal" and examine who are the ones making these "laws"

There is nothing dictating that this "land owner" has to evict these people. They are doing it to make more profit.

United Zion claims to operate their Non-profit based on “Christian Principles” and that they take inspiration from the history of the United Zion church and what the church and members Barbara and Henry Firestone did in the early 1900s.

We don't see how closing Plateau Village mobile home park and evicting everyone, thus having an entire community facing homelessness is true to what United Zion claims how they operate today.

The Firestones took in people who were experiencing homelessness in the early 1900s. Their church, United Zion, worked together with the Firestones to officially incorporate a home for the homeless in 1905.

Today, United Zion is evicting everyone out of the Plateau Village so they can build luxury retirement cottages. What we have learned about these future retirement cottages are as follows: Residents will have a three year waiting list, need to put down a deposit of $150,000 dollars and the monthly rent will be about $1,600 a month.

The current residents of Plateau Village are not able to meet the requirements to obtain one of the luxury retirement cottages. The mobile home park residents are struggling to figure out what to do next and the Homeless Union is standing by them!

United Zion, How can y'all worship a homeless man on Sunday then walk over one on Monday!?

Elected Officials: How can y'all that claim to care about what happens to us poor folk not speak up about this!? What are you afraid of!? Which side are you on, the side of money or the side of the people!?

United Zion could simply cancel their plans and let these people stay. Will they choose the plan of God and the teachings of Jesus Christ or the plan of Empire!?

Will you join us in holding United Zion and those elected to represent us accountable for these actions and demand that the residents of Plateau Village get what they demand and need!? Send us a message!
