🚴‍♂️ World Bicycle Day – June 3, 2026 🚴‍♀️

Today, we want to recognize two dedicated members of the Lancaster Police Department Bike Team, Lt. Brandon Hinson and Sgt. Jordan Brown. Their commitment to community policing and public safety helps make Lancaster a safer place for everyone.

Quick Bicycle Safety Tips:
🚲 Wear a helmet.
🚲 Obey traffic laws and use hand signals.
🚲 Stay visible with bright reflective clothing & lights on your bike.
🚲 Stay alert and avoid distractions.

Drivers: Please watch for cyclists, give them plenty of room, and remember to share the road.

Join us in thanking Lt. Hinson and Sgt. Brown for their service and dedication to our community.

Today, June 1, 2026, marks the first Gold Shield Day in South Carolina, a permanent annual observance established to honor law enforcement officers, firefighters, paramedics, and other first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

Gold Shield Day serves as a time of remembrance for those who gave their lives protecting and serving others, while also recognizing the tremendous sacrifice made by their families. It ensures that their service, dedication, and legacy will be remembered by future generations.

The Lancaster Police Department stands with the families of all fallen first responders and honors the heroes who never made it home. Their courage, commitment, and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

🚨 MISSING JUVENILE 🚨

The Lancaster Police Department needs public assistance in locating 17-year-old Zeckariah Stevens, who goes by "Zeck."

Zeck was last seen on Saturday, May 30, at approximately 1:00 p.m. when he left his home to go to the Lancaster Motor Speedway in Lancaster, South Carolina. He has not been seen or heard from since that time.

It is unknown whether Zeck is traveling on foot or in a vehicle.

At the time he was last seen, Zeck was wearing:
• Gray hoodie
• Dark blue jeans
• Black Nike Air Force 1 shoes with white accents
• Chained wallet

Anyone with information regarding Zeck's whereabouts is urged to contact the Lancaster Police Department at 803-283-3313. If you see him, please call 911 immediately.
