This month's Book of the Month is "You are the One You Have Been Waiting For" by Richard Schwartz, PhD.
Whether you are single or in a relationship, you will get something out of this one. This is an inside look into Internal Family Systems with a relational spin. Internal Family Systems is a theory that looks inward into different "parts" we all have: defensive, protective, injured parts, and Self.

I like to describe this theory as if you are a bus. I say a bus because there are many seats behind the drivers seat where all of your protective and injured parts sit. They take turns driving the bus depending on what trigger or injured part is activated. By using IFS, we learn to have those parts all take a passenger seat and let the us from today drive from a more healed place.
