𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗴𝗼 𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘀 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮'𝘀 𝟮𝟱𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗯𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗱𝗮𝘆! The route is a little shorter due to the extreme heat, starting at Hillendale & Dale Boulevard at 10 am. It will wrap up at the Gemini Way Commuter Lot, where Family Fun Day activities will take place till 2pm. If you join us, please be sure to take the heat seriously: Hydrate, find shade, and bring items to cool down: cooling towels, ice, and fans are highly recommended.

🌡️ The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Prince William County for today, July 1st, due to the forecasted high temperature of 99 degrees with heat index values anticipated to be as high as 107 degrees. Any member of the public who needs to seek shelter from the heat can visit a Prince William County library. Today is Juneteenth, and I hope you’ll join my team and me at Prince William County’s Juneteenth & Me Festival.

This year’s theme, Black Renaissance: Leading the Path Forward, is a powerful reminder that Juneteenth is not only about remembering history. It is also about honoring freedom, celebrating culture, lifting up Black creativity and leadership, and recommitting ourselves to the work still ahead.

The festival will bring together residents, families, local businesses, artists, performers, and young people for a day of connection, reflection, and joy.
