Today I’m going to be distilling lavender for the first time. I’ve grown this plant from a very small start and three years later she’s mature enough for a large harvest.
The distillation process uses hot steam to guide aromatic compounds out of plant material.
This process consists of heating water, passing steam through plant matter to v***rize oils, condensing the v***r in a cooling chamber, and separating the oil from the water
Distillation requires a significant amount of plant matter, and once you’ve done it it really makes you reconsider how precious essential oils and hydrosols are.
