cha. También creemos que se necesita una voz de los padres latinos en las mesas de liderazgo donde se toman decisiones que afectan el futuro de sus hijos. ELPASO trabaja hacia su misión de crear una masa crítica de padres latinos que estén bien informados y capacitados para ayudar a sus hijos a entrar al kindergarten listos con los siguientes programas:
• visitas -de puerta a puerta por medio de nuestras Coordinadoras de Preparación Escolar,
• entrenamientos - de líderes de padres en educación infantil,
• cafecitos,- líderes de padres latinos que comparten sus conocimientos recientemente adquiridos sobre la educación de la primera infancia con sus amigos y vecinos, y
• acción directa - alentando a los padres latinos a tomar acciones colectivas en su propio nombre. ELPASO was founded to address the achievement gap between Latino and Anglo students in Boulder County, Colorado, a gap that is wider here then anywhere else in the state. We believe parents hold the key to ensuring their children are ready for kindergarten, which will help close this gap. We also believe a Latino parent voice is needed at leadership tables where decisions are made that impact their children's future. ELPASO works toward its mission of creating a critical mass of Latino parents who are well informed and skilled to help their children enter kindergarten ready with the following programs:

· door to door outreach visits by our School Readiness Coordinators,

· early childhood education trainings of parent leaders,

· cafecitos, Latino parent leaders sharing their recently acquired knowledge about early childhood education with their friends and neighbors, and

· direct action, encouraging Latino parents to take collective action on their own behalf.
