Super Mini Walnut Cafe

One year ago today was the last day the Mini was open. So much has happened since then. What hasn't changed: missing the community, the energy, the purpose, interaction, laughter and connection we shared there. Sending out LOVE, gratitude and best wishes to the heartbeat of the Super Mini - our beloved staff and patrons!

Yesterday we "got down to cleaning business" with phase one of a super deep cleaning at the Super Mini. Social distancing, sanitizing, covering, organizing and distributing food to our hard-working and loyal staff at this stage of need. We're expecting more down the line. Phew!
Looking out for the health of the Mini staff and their families remain our utmost concern. We continue to monitor and reassess how that looks for the Mini and all the Walnuts cafes.
Many of you, our dear and loving customers and friends, have asked how you can help. It's been overwhelming and so touching to hear and feel how much you care. Your generosity and concern have been deeply appreciated already. Thank you.

In case you don't already know we've set up a "Walnut Cafes Employee Emergency Fund" where you can continue to donate to help our deeply loyal and hard-working members of our staff meet their immediate needs.

The fund is for our staff members; from those who depend more on tip income to those who depend more on hourly wages. Since we're not doing dine-in or curb-side, that would be an incredible way you can help! (Xanthe is managing that Venmo account. Any donated funds that are not used will be returned to you, you have our word it will be properly distributed or returned).

If you have temporary odd-jobs and you're seeking able and willing Super Mini staff who have already been vetted as reliable and trust-worthy by me, then you can email me at [email protected]. On staff we have a ton of skills to share, inside and outside of food service!
We are also giving away food we have on hand at all the Walnuts to our staffs, distributing it before it expires or preparing food from our perishables to freeze and give to our employees later. We want to do whatever we can to help people emerge out on the other side of this crisis and grow stronger as a community!
