This Father's Day, we want to say something to the wives, daughters, mothers, and sisters of the Gulf South: we see you. Most of the people who walk into our screenings are women. And many of them aren't only there for themselves — they're the reason a husband, a daddy, or a granddaddy finally gets his heart checked too. The nudge at the kitchen table. The appointment made on somebody else's behalf. The plate fixed a little healthier without a word about it.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death in our communities. Much of that disease is found late — or never found at all. It doesn't announce itself. It hides behind "I feel fine." The simplest way to fight back is to know your numbers — blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, weight — and to know the numbers of the people you love.
So this Sunday, after church, after the grill, have the conversation. Explore our Heart Health resources here:

June is Men’s Health Month.
Did you know that men are approximately 1.5 times more likely to develop atrial fibrillation (AFib) than women?
AFib is the most common heart rhythm disorder, affecting millions of people worldwide. It occurs when the heart’s upper chambers beat irregularly, causing the heart to work less efficiently.
While AFib can increase the risk of stroke, heart failure, and other serious complications, many people are unaware they have it.
Throughout June, HeartSense will be sharing information about:
❤️ What AFib is
❤️ Common signs and symptoms
❤️ Risk factors
❤️ Treatment options
❤️ The importance of early detection

At New Cardiovascular Horizons (NCVH) 2026 in New Orleans, Dr. Keller presented an evidence-based analysis of the evolving landscape of lifetime management in aortic stenosis, alongside leaders advancing the science of structural heart disease.
As TAVR expands to younger and lower-risk patients, Dr. Keller emphasized the importance of thinking beyond the initial procedure — focusing on long-term outcomes, future interventions, valve durability, and lifetime patient care from the very beginning.
Dr. Keller shared the panel with Dr. Peter Fail, Dr. Stephen Ramee, and Dr. Shane Prejean.
