Proverbs 18: 24 There are “friends” who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother.
"FRIEND" OR FRIEND?
Everyone has "friends"! The people who stick around as long as everything is agreeable and the relationship seems to work on their terms. But life is too short to have disingenuous friends or to be one. Yes, real friends stick it out, no matter the offense, circumstance, or mistake. Real friends forgive and continue to love. And while we may believe our quest in life is to find real friends, in truth, it's learning to become a real friend. ARE WE A "FRIEND" OR A FRIEND?
Pastor Alan Neel
1 Chronicles 4: 9 There was a man named Jabez who was more honorable than any of his brothers. His mother named him Jabez because his birth had been so painful. 10 He was the one who prayed to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and expand my territory! Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all trouble and pain!” And God granted him his request.
ENGAGE GOD AND ASK!
In the midst of all the begats that open 1 Chronicles, there is Jabez. He is a constant reminder that, no matter where we are or where we have come from, we should ask God for His help. I know it's easy to stop asking. We begin to rationalize what God should do or why He didn't do what we thought He should, and we convince ourselves that there is no need to ask God. But what if our lives were filled with missed opportunities simply because we didn't ask God? ENGAGE GOD AND ASK, THEN LET HIM BUILD YOUR FAITH!
