Student Media Law Shorts Series 08/12/2024

With some schools already back in session and others enjoying the last few precious weeks of summer, the JEASPRC is here with a great new resource created by Tripp Robbins, who worked with Student Press Law Center to develop a Student Media Law Shorts Series on YouTube.

This series of bite-sized videos serves as an introduction to topics in student media law and ethics. They can be used as part of a curriculum or just on a need-to-know basis. They're concise and dense, so you may want to pause them to digest some points. They are not sequential, so start with the topic you're interested in!

TOPIC LIST:
1st Amendment Basics
Anonymous Sources
Building Bridges
Copyright Basics
Covering Protests, Pt 1
Covering Protests, Pt. 2
Creative Commons
Defamation
Fair Use

New Voices Laws
Off the Record

If you have requests for future video topics, let us know in Comments. We'll create more as needed!
