Nature, animals, and mindfulness are many techniques used though each session is individualized to the child.

I have a new favorite book, written by author Scott Kloos.

If you live in the Pacific Northwest, you should have this book on your bookshelf. The kids will be motivated and educated enough to go out and identify, forage, and use the plants that are right at their fingertips. The best part is that they are down on the ground pulling up roots, looking up and picking leaves, and exploring their environment. So much sensory input I would be here all day if I were to list them all. The benefits are endless!!

*the geographical area covered includes Alaska, British Columbia, Oregon, Washington, and Northern California. Happy foraging!!

How could I not share this brilliant idea to get more kids out in nature? Impressed with Huckleberry Hiking😍 and wonder if there’s an OT behind this invention somewhere 😉

Only when outside can you have loud kids crashing into each other but never stop smiling. Look how easy my job is when I let nature take the lead.
