A tabling event held by Turning Point USA was disrupted on Tuesday outside the Kent State Library after an unidentified student came up to the group with scissors in their hands.

The person used the scissors to pop red, white and blue balloons, before walking and shouting “Go f**k yourselves,” and “you f**king neck gushers too.”

The latter seemed to be directed towards the Turning Point members working the table, as the individual was mocking Turning Point founder Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated in September 2025 after he was shot in the neck.

Kent State has begun the process of moving university offices and services out of the Michael Schwartz Center ahead of Bio-Med Science Academy’s move to the building in the fall of 2027.

Some offices, such as Career Services, Admissions and various Finance and Administration offices have already been moved out of the building. The Office of the University Architect is facilitating the move.

Career Services has recently been relocated to the Center for Undergraduate Excellence. Admissions has moved to the DI Hub, and Finance and Administration offices have been moved to Harbourt Hall.
